Miso Apple Friands
Apple of My Eye
Ingredients
100g butter, melted (plus extra for greasing the mould)
125g icing sugar
25g plain flour
85g ground almonds
3 egg whites
¼ jar Miso Apple Compote
Method
Preheat the oven to 180C fan bake.
In a bowl mix the 100g melted butter with the icing sugar, plain flour and ground almonds until smooth.
In a separate bowl, whip the egg whites until stiff.
Fold the egg whites into the almond mixture, a little at a time, to retain the air in the batter.
Brush your mould with butter.
Pour the mixture into each mould leaving a little space from the top.
Gently spoon in a little miso apple compote into each mould and gently brush the batter over to cover.
Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
Leave to cool slightly before tipping out.
Sprinkle with icing sugar and enjoy!
